1. About these terms

These terms apply to all eBike hire and related services provided by Ride Maleny ("we", "us"), Maleny, Queensland. By making a booking you agree to these terms. A booking is confirmed when you receive our confirmation email.

2. Who can ride

Under Queensland law, every rider must:

be 16 years of age or older;
hold at least a learner licence and carry it on the day. Interstate licences are accepted, and overseas licences are accepted where recognised under Queensland law;
wear the helmet we provide, properly fitted, at all times while riding.

We may refuse or end a hire without refund if a rider cannot show a valid licence, or if we reasonably believe a rider is unfit to ride safely, including through the effects of alcohol or drugs. Queensland's 0.05 blood alcohol limit applies to eBike riders.

3. Bookings and payment

Payment in full is taken at the time of booking through our secure payment provider, Stripe. We do not see or store your card details. Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST where applicable.

4. Changes, cancellations and our Weather Guarantee

Our Weather Guarantee. If conditions are unsafe to ride, such as lightning, severe weather warnings or sustained heavy rain, we will call the ride off by 7:00 am on the day. You then choose a full refund or a free reschedule to any available date within 12 months. Light rain and hinterland mist are a normal part of riding here and are not grounds for cancellation under this guarantee.
Rescheduling. You may move your booking to any available date free of charge up to 24 hours before your start time, for any reason.
Cancelling. Cancel 48 hours or more before your start time for a full refund. Within 48 hours we offer a free reschedule or a 12-month credit rather than a refund. If you do not arrive for your ride, the booking is forfeited.

Nothing in this section limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

5. Your responsibilities during the hire

Obey Queensland road rules at all times, including the 12 km/h limit on footpaths and when passing pedestrians.
Ride within your own ability and take reasonable care of yourself and others.
One rider per bike. Bikes must not be ridden by anyone other than the riders named in the booking.
Use the lock we provide whenever the bike is left unattended.
Tell us immediately if a bike develops a fault or is involved in an accident.

6. Equipment, damage and loss

You are responsible for the bike and equipment from pickup until return. Fair wear and tear is always on us. You are liable for the reasonable cost of repair or replacement where a bike or equipment is damaged through misuse, or lost or stolen because it was left unlocked or unattended contrary to these terms.

7. Safety and risk

Riding a bicycle involves inherent risks, including the risk of injury. We reduce these risks with a maintained, road-legal fleet that complies with Queensland eBike standards, fitted helmets, curated routes and local support, but we cannot remove them entirely. To the extent permitted by law, including the Australian Consumer Law, our liability for loss or damage arising from your use of the bikes is limited to resupplying the service or refunding the amount you paid.

8. Privacy

We handle your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

9. General

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Questions are always welcome through our contact form.
